Not today corona virus COVID 19

The world is on a standstill today. With news pouring in from every corner of the world, we don’t turn off the television anymore, hoping for some news that can provide some relief. We are confused, stressed and scared, all at the same time and that is understandable in the current scenario. Tough times call for tough measures but that does not mean that we cannot make it easy on ourselves while still being responsible.

COVID-19 has forced several countries of the world to go into lockdown with strict instructions to stay at home and practice social distancing since this is one of our best defense against the coronavirus.  Staying at our homes, on a stretch continuously is something most of us are not used to but there are a lot of things we can do to make these days productive for ourselves.

I can talk about the impact of this virus, the background, the statistics, the updates but maybe we need to look at something more than just that so that we can continue to maintain a positive and healthy spirit without giving up to stress and fear.

Staying at home can open up a lot of opportunities for many of us if only we try to look. There is just so much to do, so much we didn’t have the time for and so much we can learn. Some of the things we can do at home may include:

  • Reading : Seriously. You remember all those books you kept in your bucket list but never got the time to read? Now is the time to take out those books and show them some love.

  • Writing : Writers, authors, bloggers will certainly relate to the fact that we tend to have so many ideas but so little time to work on all those writings in our head so this is the time when we can actually get our pen and paper, sit down for long hours and finish up our writings (or even a whole book for that matter).

Writing is something everyone can do and with our words we can lift each other up in this time of crisis. So, if possible, try to write, even if a single sentence that can motivate others and share it on social media to spread a positive spirit.

  • Create : Lots and lots of free time can result in crazy ideas. It is said that an empty mind is the devil’s workshop but an idle mind can also be a storehouse for creative ideas. It’s all about how we choose to fill it in. Take this opportunity to create something. It may be art, some craft, some new recipe perhaps, but let that mind experiment and just create freely.

  • Learn : Being at home doesn’t have to be all about sleeping, eating and watching television. You can make this time productive by learning something. You can search the internet and gather knowledge about things or you can even learn a new skill.

  • Contribute : If there is any way in which you can contribute to the society while being at home, then go ahead and do it because the world needs it. Encourage, inspire and motivate.

Most of the times, we are too busy to start learning something new and taking that first step is what matters the most so here’s the opportunity to take that first step and kick off the journey to learn something new.

These are just a few things you can do and I’m sure there are several more such activities you can do to make this time at home, easier and productive. All you need to do is explore the opportunities lying around you.

Together we stand in the fight against corona virus

The fight against this global threat is going to be a long one. These are tough times and the very moments when the world needs to rise above everything and display the strength in solidarity. We all may be separate in our homes but together we stand in this time of crisis. Let’s make this fight easy for ourselves and lift each other up by being together, separately.

We can do this. We will make it through.

In the end, a big salute to all the people who are still out there, working tirelessly and risking their lives to keep the system and health facilities running so that we can defeat this virus. We are thankful for their selfless service and really appreciate their efforts.
